How We Picked

Every sweater on this list is in stock in at least one size, comes in X-small to XX-large, and lists its fabric on the product page. We left out styles with bells, pom-poms or glued-on decorations, because small parts can come loose. Browse the full Christmas sweater collection for more.

2. Christmas Tree Bow Dog Embroidered Sweater

5. Chillin with My Snowmies Ugly Christmas Sweater

Which One Should You Pick?

For a family photo, pick a color that stands out against your dog’s coat: the red tree sweater on a dark dog, or the black ugly sweater on a white one. For a party where your dog will be on the move, choose a pullover with ribbed cuffs so the sleeves stay in place.

For the days after Christmas, the Knitted Fleece Dog Sweater gives you ribbed knit in midnight blue and medium purple.

Keep the Holidays Safe

The AKC advises against leaving your dog unattended while they are wearing a sweater. Take it off before your dog goes into a crate or stays home alone.

Holiday decorations need a second look too. Ingested tinsel could even require surgery, according to the ASPCA.

Find the Right Size

Measure your dog’s chest girth and back length, then check the Fitwarm size chart. For fit and photo tips, read our guide to choosing a holiday dog sweater, or shop all Christmas sweaters.

If the chest girth falls between two sizes, size up. A sweater that pulls across the chest will ride up every time your dog sits down.
